Lacroix, Jacques

Jacques Lacroix is professor, Department of Pediatrics, Université de Montréal. He is the director of the Clinician Investigator Program, Université de Montréal. His main topics of research are transfusion medicine, multiple organ dysfunction syndrome and pediatric trauma. He wrote 260 papers in peer-reviewed journals (h-index = 59, i10-index = 136, 15556 citations, including 30 articles with more than 100 citations), 94 chapters, a textbook in pediatric critical care medicine (1368 pages), section editions in two other textbooks, and 297 abstracts, posters and free papers. He gave 298 invited lectures across the world, including 158 outside Canada. He received $55 millions from academic granting agencies. He is the chairman of a research group on transfusion medicine in pediatrics. He published two landmark randomized controlled trials, the TRIPICU study (N Engl J Med 2007;356:1609-19) and the ABLE study (N Engl J Med 2015;372:110-8), and he is presently conducting the ABC-PICU trials (NCT01977547) (https://bit.ly/2PdTgMr) with Marisa Tucci and Phil Spinella. Many international organizations have sought his expertise (American NIH, British NIH, Société de réanimation de langue française, Society of Critical Care Medicine, etc.). Many guidelines resulted from these scientific activities.
